“Push” takes us into the secret world of psychic espionage. Our hero is Nick Gant (Chris Evans), a young man whose father was genetically altered to be the perfect government assassin. After the brutal murder of his father, Nick swears revenge on the agency that created him.

Hidden in the underworld of Hong Kong, Nick assembles a group of rogue psychics to defeat Division, the covert agency responsible for creating and experimenting with psychic drugs for decades.

Nick teams up with Cassie Holmes, a thirteen-year-old girl who can see the future, to track down a missing girl and a stolen suitcase that could potentionally bring the downfall of Division - the key to their mutual revenge. Combining their skills, they outwit assassins and learn about Division’s latest secret weapon - a powerful and new experimental drug called R16, which could shift the tides of psychic warfare.

The film is directed by Paul McGuigan, starring Chris Evans, Dakota Fanning, Camilla Belle and Djimon Hounsou.

“Push” is scheduled to hit theaters on February 6, 2009.

“Milk” is a drama biopic from Focus Features starring Josh Brolin (American Gangster, Grindhouse), Allison Pill and Sean Penn (I Am Sam, Mystic River).


Gist: His life changed history. His courage changed lives. In 1977, Harvey Milk was elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, becoming the first openly gay man to be voted into public office in America. His victory was not just a victory for gay rights; he forged coalitions across the political spectrum. From senior citizens to union workers, Harvey Milk changed the very nature of what it means to be a fighter for human rights and became, before his untimely death in 1978, a hero for all Americans. Milk charts the last eight years of Harvey Milk’s life. While living in New York City, he turns 40. Looking for more purpose, Milk and his lover Scott Smith relocate to San Francisco, where they found a small business, Castro Camera, in the heart of a working-class neighborhood. With his beloved Castro neighborhood and beautiful city empowering him, Milk surprises Scott and himself by becoming an outspoken agent for change. With vitalizing support from Scott and from new friends like young activist Cleve Jones, Milk plunges headfirst into the choppy waters of politics. Milk, one of the frontrunners in this year’s Oscar Awards, is directed by Gus Van Sant.




Slumdog Millionaire is a 2008 drama film directed by Danny Boyle and written by Simon Beaufoy. It is based on the book Q and A written by Indian author and diplomat Vikas Swarup. Loveleen Tandan began as the film's casting director but was appointed by Boyle as a "co-director".

The film, shot and set in India, follows a young man from the slums of Mumbai who appears on a game show and exceeds people's expectations, raising the suspicions of the game show host and law enforcement.

Following screenings at the Telluride Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival, Slumdog Millionaire had a limited release on 12 November 2008 to critical acclaim and awards success. Slumdog Millionaire swept five awards out of its six nominations at the Critics Choice Awards on January 8th, 2009. It picked up Best Director, Best Writing, Best Young Actor/Actress, Best Composer, and Best Picture.

Synopsis: The story of Jamal Malik, an 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, who is about to experience the biggest day of his life. With the whole nation watching, he is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees on India’s “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating; how could a street kid know so much? Cast: Dev Patel as Jamal Malik , the protagonist, a Muslim boy born and raised in the poverty of Mumbai. Boyle considered hundreds of young male actors, although he found that Bollywood leads were generally "strong, handsome hero-types", not the personality he was looking for. Boyle's 17-year-old daughter pointed him to the British television ensemble drama Skins, of which Patel was a cast member.[3] The actor was cast in August 2007.

Freida Pinto as Latika, the girl with whom Jamal Malik is in love. Pinto was an Indian model who had not starred in a feature film before. Regarding the "one of a kind" scarf she wears, "designer Suttirat Anne Larlarb" says, "I wanted to bookend the journey--to tie her childhood yellow dress to her final look."
